Shushan Baumann has a graduate degree in Philology and in 2018 immigrated to the United States. Prior to becoming an International Student Advisor at IU Indianapolis, Shushan worked for over a decade teaching English as a second language and taught Russian for two years at Indiana University's Slavic and Eastern European Studies Department. Most recently, Shushan regularly worked with international students at the Indiana University Dental School as a Program Management Assistant. Shushan is deeply passionate about fostering cultural exchange and making a positive impact in people's lives. As an immigrant herself, she understands the challenges of living in a new country and is excited to utilize her experiences to support international students at OIA.
Shushan lives in Indianapolis with her husband and her dog Plato. She loves to travel, read books, and bake.
